Meet at Morgan Hill Parking Garage -- 3rd Street entrance off Monterey Road
“I loved seeing and hearing stories about the Grange, vintage houses, the 4 th Street
Parking garage and its Tarantula artwork, Railroad Park, the renovated Granary
Building…a wonderful way to acquaint yourself with Morgan Hill’s vibrant downtown mix
of old and new...”
— S.S., a longtime Morgan Hill resident
“. . .the best way to learn more about our local history is to immerse oneself in the
ambiance of our downtown and its unique buildings, each with a story to tell about the
people and places that are distinctly Morgan Hill. Tour-goers enjoy stories of days gone
by. Some with local family history of their own share their stories with the group. “I
didn’t know that!” is a frequent refrain. “You mean that sculpture at the train depot is a depiction of Morgan and Diana Murphy Hill and their daughter? I have walked by it
many times and never stopped to read the plaque.” The Historic Downtown Walking
Tour is a great way to learn about the colorful history of Morgan Hill and gain a sense of
connection to our community.
